These days, a lot of people see travelling not just as a leisure activity but also as a way to explore the world and discover new places. There are many different ways of travelling and exploring a country, but if you want to discover Melbourne, the best way to do it in my (I'll admit, slightly campervan obsessed) experience is, you guessed it, with a campervan!

Melbourne is one of the most populated cities in Australia. Some people who decide to explore this place opt to stay in a hotel or a bed and breakfast. What a waste! Sure this allows them to explore what's within the city center, maybe even the most popular tourist attractions surrounding Melbourne if they take a tour, but there's no way you're going to experience all of what this city has to offer like that.
If you have decided to embark on a great journey with your kids, you should try to do it minus the luxurious stay in hotels since you are there to explore the place but not the hotel’s amenities (not to mention the money you'll save, which can go towards extending your trip). To fully enjoy what this city has to offer, you should explore Melbourne with a campervan. Some may not see it as a common option, but it is one of the greatest ways to explore Melbourne and Victoria with kids I promise. With a camper your holiday transforms from a series of tourist traps and hotel rooms to an all day adventure that you don't easily forget.
With a campervan you can explore beyond the city’s limits too and you can decide where you want to go and even when you will be leaving the destination where you are. You can start by exploring what the city has to offer, from restaurants, amusement parks, and urban destinations like everyone else. But then once you've seen enough, you can just jump in your van and explore all the more out-of-the-way attractions, like Victoria's famous Bells Beach or the many historic towns and hamlets that Victoria boasts as a former gold-rush state. A campervan allows you to drive in the morning or at night, and even sleep while one of your travel companions is driving.
With a van you have full control of your time, and you don't need to worry about buses, trams and expensive day-by-day hire cars. You would not waste time in calling a cab and returning to your hotel at the end of each day. You can even have a detailed travel plan that will start in exploring Melbourne and end up exploring other cities such as Geelong or even Sydney. So if you want to fully enjoy what Melbourne, and what Australia has to offer it is, in my humble opinion, best to hire a campervan.
